White marks on Roi

I  mentioned that Roi has 2 small white marks.  According to the breed standard for Yorkshire Terriers, white marks on the chest are not a problem if they don’t exceed 1″.  White marks anywhere else are not allowed in AKC showdogs, so alas his show career has ended before it started.  We love him anyway.  We’re sure you will too.

Weight

At 3 days shy of 6 weeks old, the pups were weighed.  Here are the results:

• Roi - 1.6 lbs. (1 lb. 9 oz.)
• Penny - 1.45 lbs. (1 lb. 7 oz.)
• Dough - 1.3 lbs (1 lb. 5 oz.)

Meet the pups

Roi is the biggest, and the only boy.  His name stands for Return On Investment.

He has a bit of white on his chest and a tiny spot on his back foot, but is a very handsome boy.  Just look at the deep, thoughtful look on his little face.  Show a little respect and don’t you dare babytalk him.  He’s a big boy, he is.

Roi is for sale for $400.

Big brother

Next is Penny.  She loves to drink pina coladas, take long walks on the beach and nibble on toes or her siblings’ tails.  She has crazy eyebrows.  Can you even look at her without smiling?

Last is tiny little Dough.  She’s a beauty, with the plucky attitude that seems so common in the smallest.  Don’t tell her that she’s the prettiest, because she already knows it.  And don’t tell her that she’s the smallest; she won’t believe you anyway.

A little history

Last year, our 6 oldest children, ages 13 to 4, pooled their life savings to buy a female Yorkie.  They did the math and figured out everyone’s share in the investment, and have divided the expenses since then according to each child’s fraction of ownership.

After all, we are homeschoolers.  Could you tell?

They used their pooled resources to buy Precious Prudence, a 7 lb. ACA registered Yorkie mama.

During the summer, they pooled their resources again to pay for AKC stud service by Noah, a 6 lb. male, and Precious was ready to be a mom.  Her 3 pups were born August 10th.

Because their mother is ACA registered and their father is AKC registered, the pups are eligible for ACA registration as well.  They will go to their new homes ready to be officially named and registered.

In the meantime, they are receiving all the love you can imagine from a houseful of 9 children.  These babies will be ready for anything!
